We were! This week-end Paul, and his team, the Bears, played two games. His team is still learning and they have only had one victory so far this season but the coaches are encouraging and motivating, no matter.
I admit, as a protective and loving mother, I was dead set against trepidatious having my little nine year old play this rough and tumble sport. Imagine my anger distress when after his first practice in pads, he came home limping with a knee injury, that though not serious, did require an X-ray and three weeks of rest on crutches. :( Thankfully, the young heal quickly and Paul continued attending practice even though he couldn't play and the coaches were impressed. He has a strong work ethic and enjoys playing kicker and different positions on defense, mostly cornerback.
Here are a few photos from the week-end.

Paul looking serious, well, football is SERIOUS in Texas, ya'll!
