It is not the actual physical exertion that counts toward a man's progress, nor the nature of the task, but the spirit of faith with which it is undertaken. -- St. Francis Xavier
Life has intervened the last few weeks and though the older two girls have been chugging away at their schoolwork, the youngers have just been doing a bit of math, handwriting and then free-reading to their hearts desire. :)
As this week begins, I decided to have a week to just address those troublesome academic issues that worry me about each of my children. We all have these little worries...this child still struggles with multiple digit multiplication, that child agonizes over his lower case letter formation, this child needs to begin her government unit study, that child really must begin her history timeline book, the toddler thinks a zebra is a stripe-y kind of horse (horror of horrors!!)....and on and on...
So...I am trouble-shooting this week--and that's all. I have a piece of paper for each child (including little Joseph) with all the academic "troubles/issues/needs" and I am going to at least address for a bit each and every one of those items that have been weighing heavy on my heart. Then, perhaps I will be able to see the forest after foraging through the trees...:) If I cannot get through all their sheets this week, we may stay on task through next week. But, truly, all I want is to start...:)
