Rowing: October's Plans/Week One

This month we are going to begin Five in a Row with Rose (5) and Paul (7). Marie (just turned 3) will tag along and probably participate quite a bit! I have all the books for the month of October:

Who Owns the Sun?

The Glorious Flight

Today we will read the first book for the month: The Rag Coat. And then to continue to learn more about quilting and sewing, we will also read a few more books this week: The Patchwork Quilt and Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt.

We will attempt to make a no-sew blanket with a quilt-like fabric that we can use to cozy up under while we read aloud this fall--if it ever gets cold enough! Texas in the fall is still pretty hot! :)
