Update from Trey's Dad:
" WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2007 05:19 PM, CDT
Trey's operation was a total success. The doctor was able to remove the entire tumor. This was not even anticipated to be possible. Typically the tumor attaches "strands" into the tissue of blood veins & organs, and portions have to be left behind for the chemo, radiation or other treatments to address. But, miraculously, the doctor told us that the cancerous tissue simply pealed off of the adjacent tissues and no major risks were encountered in removing all of the tumor.
We are so relieved and grateful for this fantastic result. Thanks to all of you for your prayers. Trey feels pretty rugged, it was a very intrusive surgery, but he seems strong and he can be manuvered into positions that allow at least some degree of comfort.
I will update as we learn more. He still will have both BMTs. The 1st will probably commence September 11. This will allow us to associate that date with something better from this point forward... the begining of the end of Trey's cancer."
A funny story: When Trey's Dad and Aunt came to pick up his brother and sister from my house this afternoon, Trey's Aunt related a funny story. She said she was text messaging all her relatives and friends the wonderful news about his surgery and mistakenly sent a message to a wrong number. A little bit later, she received a reply to her text. It said: "I don't know Trey but I will say a prayer for him. Herb" I think Herb's prayer was part of our miracle today! :) The body of Christ united in prayer is an awesome thing to witness.
Thank you so much for your prayers; they are so powerful! Trey is settled in his room right now and could use a few prayers for pain relief. I know his family covets your continued prayers that his recovery will go smoothly.
Prayer After Surgery
Blessed Savior, we thank you that this operation is safely past, and Trey now rests in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of his being. In moments of pain, may You give him strength, in times of loneliness and fear may he feel your loving nearness. Grant that your life and love and joy may flow through him for the healing of others in your name. Amen.
