Let the Little Ones Come

A Big Day for my Big Girls

Tomorrow is a big day for Meg (12) and Grace (10). Meg (below at her Christmas recital) will be attending her first Solo and Ensemble Band Contest!

Grace (below at her dress rehearsal for Irish Fest) will be attending her first Feis.

Please pray that the girls have fun and do their best! Bill and I will be splitting up to get them to their destinations and I will have baby Joseph with me as I navigate Grace through her first Irish dance competition. Here's hoping her wig stays put! ;)

ETA: The girls did their best! Meg bravely played her solo and managed to make it through in one piece; the judge was very kind with her praise and criticism and offered to call her when she is in town for some lessons! A good day for my Meg! :) Grace received a first place in her 4-Hand Reel and placed 5th in her reel (solo). This is pretty awesome considering it was her first feis and she was competing against 20+ in each dance! Baby Joseph was pretty popular with the crowds, too! :)

It's only been 22 years...

...since I saw Sting in Austin, TX when I was in college. And before that, it had only been 24 years since I saw the Police. I was a huge fan in high school and college... In fact, when they came in 1983, I actually stood in line at a local bookstore the day after the concert (with parental permission, I skipped school!) to have Andy Summers sign his book on photography. I was so thrilled to meet him...And looking at their website, the man hasn't aged...I mean did he sell his soul to the devil a la Dorian Gray or what?

Why am I writing this post? Well, dh sent me an email; they're coming to our town. I quickly dismissed the idea of going (a nursing 13 month old does not make for evenings out!). BUT, they are coming to Starplex and they have a lawn area with relatively inexpensive seating and this could work...I mean baby Joseph loves music; I could put him in the sling and rock him to the music--if it's not too loud, he might even go to sleep...It's an outdoor concert so any residual "fumes" would not be too overpowering...Hmmm....

I just need to dust off the Christmas present my little bro gave me many moons ago...
