Meg and her one of her dearest friends, Emily , have been taking homeschool band classes for three years now. We are blessed to have a music teacher in our area who offers music lessons for home schoolers.
This past week was one of the girls' favorite times of the year--the annual band contest at a local amusement park. In years past, Emily's mom and siblings have hung out at my house while the Dads take the girls to the contest. Unfortunately, this year, only Bill could take the girls as Doug, Emily's father, was out of town on business.
Here are a few photos from the day.

The band preparing to play for the judges.

A group photo of the little homeschool band. The kids range in age from 4th-10th grades! Meg (clarinet) is in the back row--thrid from left. Emily (flute) is on Maggie's right. Meg's cousin, Joseph, also plays in the band. He is wearing the sea-green shirt and holding the trombone in the front row!

While the girls waited for their results, they had a bit of excitement on a few rides.

Trophy! They received a 2nd place in their division. (Meg, Emily and their sweet teacher, Mrs. Whitson).
