Good Friday

 

Today is Good Friday, the day Our Lord and Savior died for us.  

As in years past, when we pray our family Rosary tonight, we will also begin the Divine Mercy Novena. 

I also wanted to share this reflection from St. John Chrysostom today as it caused me to reflect more deeply on Our Lord's Passion.

Holy Thursday

From the Collect:

God our Father, we are gathered here to share in supper which your only Son left to his Church to reveal his love. He gave it to us when he was about to die and commanded us to celebrate it as the new and eternal sacrifice. We pray that in this Eucharist we may find the fullness of love and life. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

 Amen.

A Guide to Holy Week

 

is here at Our Sunday Visitor.  Meg, especially, liked taking the quiz.  :)

Today and tomorrow we are for finishing up the Lenten cleaning and then the Paschal Triduum begins.  I am really looking forward to all the services this week.  

Our family has a tradition of making a small pilgrimage to this lovely parish for Confession on Holy Saturday.  (Priests of Opus Dei are there each Saturday beginning at noon to hear confessions).  Then, when our family travels the short distance to our home, we can quietly prepare ourselves to meet our Resurrected Lord on Easter Sunday.  

My prayers are with each one of you as we enter into this most Holy of Weeks.
