This Saturday we celebrated a trifecta of sorts! Baby Joseph, three weeks old, was baptized in the name of the Trinity (three persons in one God): Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! His little soul is now bright with God's presence! Hurrah and thanks be to God for all our family and friends who could be there to celebrate this joyous occasion!
He is also blessed with three special patron saints whom I hope he will pray and ask for intercession as he grows in his faith and life: St. Joseph, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Anthony the Great. What a blessed little baby boy to have these three great men of faith to emulate and beseech for prayers!
Joseph's godfather, a widower and father of five, gave him a precious gift at the baptism party--a statue of one of his patrons: St. Anthony of Padua. As Joseph is the youngest of six, in a raucous, loving, chaotic household, his patron is called upon by his family quite often to find a precious treasure that has been lost or mislaid! ;)
Here are a few pictures of this blessed day in the life of Joseph and our family. The only photos I have so far are from my Dad. Our camera needs new batteries before we can download more pictures from this special day. No actual pictures of the pouring on of water, but I hope there are some on our camera! :S
Joseph's godparents look on as Joseph (wide awake!) prepares to be baptized!
Just missed the pouring of water but Joseph's soul is as white as the driven snow now! :)
Lots of holy chrism on his head--a heavenly scent!
Proud mama and baby!
Proud parents and baby!!
Our happy family with Joseph's godparents and our deacon, a great lover of children!
